People Matter
Joe Stowell, a former pastor and president of Moody Bible Institute, wrote about an experience he had while visiting his in-laws. He happened to accidentally break a vase that was in the family for years.
As he waited for a negative reaction, his mother-in-law, with great kindness, responded by saying, “In our home, people matter more than things!” What a gracious response! People matter more than things.
In fact, Jesus in this passage takes it a step further by saying that people matter even when it comes to applying God’s commands.
