For what we preach is not
ourselves, but Jesus Christ
as Lord, and ourselves as
your servants for Jesus’ sake.
2 Corinthians 4:5
The God Who Elects and Protects
Jacob’s life reveals a sovereign God, choosing people not based on merit but on his love to further his purposes. It also shows how divine election does not cancel out human responsibility. In the latter sense, his life not only serves as a warning against taking matters into our own hands by relying on our wisdom but also comforts us that the God of Jacob does not abandon his children despite their poor choices.
