The Lord Jesus stresses using our spiritual gifts and resources to serve him and his kingdom as we await his return. When he returns, we will be asked to give an account of how we have lived and how central his interests were in our lives. Those who’ve lived lazy and self-centered lives will have a rude awakening as they will hear him pronounce eternal judgment on them. But those who’ve labored faithfully for Jesus will hear him pronounce a great blessing on them, for they are the ones who’ve truly lived a successful life, success as defined by Jesus.
