Psalm 51 which has been called the “gem of all psalms” and the “sinners guide” is one that people have turned to over the ages. In this psalm of David, we are given a picture of the type of confession that not only pleases God but also experiences his forgiveness. In this psalm, we find these 5 marks of true confession.

True confession will be marked by:

• A desire to be clean on the inside [vv. 1-10]
• A desire to be in joyful fellowship with God [11-12]
• A desire to be a blessing to unbelievers [13]
• A desire to offer the right worship to God [14-17]
• A desire to be a blessing to believers [18-19]
